HEROCart®

The first medical cart designed for single-patient use: a recyclable, pop-up cart family for surge capacity, field hospitals and emergency response.

One cart for one patient

When COVID-19 filled hospitals in 2020, TAGCarts paused its other designs and created the HEROCart: a patent-pending, pop-up, recyclable family of medical carts and workstations for single-patient use. Keeping supplies at one bedside nearly eliminates cross-contamination, and a cart used for a COVID patient is never reused.

HEROCarts are named after the healthcare heroes they serve. They are designed in California, made in the U.S.A., and assembled with PRIDE by veterans and Americans with disabilities.

  • Ships flat or assembled, by container, truck or pallet
  • Costs less than 5% of the permanent, hard-surface equivalent
  • Color-coding for patient status, hospital logos, donor names and messages
  • Gives patients some dignity in a mass care setting

Impact

HEROCarts at the front line, 2020

In April 2020 more than 1,100 pop-up field hospitals opened across the United States, along with surge capacity inside hospitals. These new environments of care had none of the medical and workstation carts nurses rely on.

TAGCarts donated hundreds of HEROCarts to nurses and patients, including 250 to the State of California through Cal OES and carts for Gila River Health Care in Arizona. FEMA HEROCarts are ready to serve in emergency and disaster response across North America.

In their words

What partners and nurses said

The State of California is thankful to TAGCarts for their generous donation of 250 HEROCarts to be used at our medical facilities. These items will be deployed to support Californians as we respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Abigail BrowningChief of the Office of Private Sector/NGO Coordination, Cal OES

A big thanks to TAGCarts for their kind donation of the HEROCarts. As they say, crisis breeds innovation, and innovation provides a simple path solution for the greatest good.

Dr. Wes YamadaInterim CMO and Chief of Surgical Services, Gila River Health Care

We placed the carts in the hallways for stocking of PPE outside the patient rooms, making it easier for nurses to obtain and don the PPE they need to keep themselves and the patients safe.

Susan KellyChief Nursing Officer, Gila River Health Care

If you need an alcohol wipe, glove or other PPE, it’s there in the HEROCart. You can safely and conveniently take care of your patients and you’re ready to go.
